Supporting your birth through calm connectedness, each step of the way.
About Erin
My name is Erin Megenity. I live in Downtown Milwaukee with my husband and our two sons, Elwood and August. I grew up in nearby Cedarburg, Wisconsin, and I graduated from Knox College with a degree in International studies. When I’m not doing birthwork, I spend my days homeschooling my boys. In my free time, I love to read and listen to podcasts, knit and crochet, and explore Milwaukee on a bike, scooter, or bus.
I trained as a birth doula through DONA International after serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ethiopia. I have long been drawn to birth work, and I feel passionately about helping people have a positive birth experience. Since completing my training, I have worked with dozens of birthing people and have experience with every kind of birth from planned home birth to planned C-Section.
As your doula, I will spend time getting to know you while we consider your hopes and fears for your birth. These will feed into your personalized birth plan, which will then guide my work during the birth itself. I will provide hands-on comfort measures, emotional and informational support, and a calm, connected presence. I will help to provide the information you need to make informed decisions about your birth, and then support those decisions.
I also believe that partners and doulas compliment each other. I will work to support your partner so they are able to best support you.
